Congrats to our first lady – she has just wrapped up her first full 365 days in the White House, and in addition, she made an announcement about making some changes over in the East Wing.
She stated that she had successfully filled three important roles on her team: Director of Policy, Director of Operations and Communications Coordinator.
This is probably one of the biggest expansions of her East Wing staff to date. We expect to see some exciting plans for the new year, while she is getting comfortable in her new official capacity.
According to a White House statement, Melania has chosen a former staffer for the National Security Council, Reagan Thompson, to be her Director of Policy, who is supposed to oversee the first lady’s “policies and initiatives”.
Justin Caporale, who worked on the Trump campaign, is the new Director of Operations, and his duties will be to manage the day-to-day logistical operations of the East Wing, focusing on events, and planning foreign and domestic travel.
And Annie LeHardy, who will be moving from the West Wing press office, is going to serve as Melania’s Communications Director.
“I am so excited to add three more professionals to my team,” Melania Trump stated. Each one of them filling their respective and vital role has shown true professionalism and I believe they will enhance my work on behalf of children everywhere and on the other hand help me further expand my role as First Lady of the United States.”
