Democrats look like they have a funny vision of what Armageddon will look like. Most probably, some envision gutted buildings home to shuffling forms of mutated humanity set against a back drop of chaotic violence, at least I do.
When House Minority Bleater Nancy Pelosi tried to do her best Chicken Little act of calling the approved GOP tax bill ‘the end of the world’ and Armageddon, we all expected something out of ‘The Book of Eli’.
Washington Post columnist Erica Werner tweeted the following regarding this matter:
Pelosi disputes claim by @APAndrewTaylor that tax bill is not the end of the world. “No it is the end of the world … this is Armageddon.”

We should be thankful that what we got was the opposite of the End Times.
Accoridng to Fortune, it all started the day the bill was officially signed – when AT&T, an American bell-weather company, made an announcement about the GOP bill being so good for its company that they were bestowing $1,000 bonus to over 200,000 of its American employees and was about to invest $1 billion in American-based expansion.
Then, on the scene came Boeing, Wells Fargo and Third Fifth Bancorp, which proclaimed that they would be raising wages, offering bonuses and providing ‘employee-related charitable donations’.
The good news has continued to pour in – on January 2, Southwest Airlines CEO Gary Kelly stated that his company will be offering employees $1,000 bonuses “as a response to the GOP’s tax bill”, as the Washington Examiner reported. This is what he stated:
“We applaud Congress and President Trump for taking this action to pass legislation. As a result, there will be meaningful corporate income tax reform for the transportation sector in general, and for Southwest Airlines, in particular. We are looking forward to all the savings and additional capital, which we intend to put to work in more than one form — to reward our employees that work so hard, to reinvest in our business, to reward our shareholders, and to keep our costs and fares as low as possible.”
These are some of the tweets regarding this matter, take a look:
Maybe, just maybe, introduction might have to be made between Pelosi’s foot and her mouth.
