Meghan Markle is going to strut down the aisle at St. George’s Chapel in Windsor Castle on May 19th, but before that takes place, the noted liberal managed to take several more pot shots at President Trump.
As the big day approaches, the actress and the prince are surely whittling down their wedding guest list, and according to a source, Ms. Markle has made a single demand of Pronce Harry – she wouldn’t like for President Trump to be invited to her wedding.
Last year in May, she was asked on “The Nightly Show with Larry Wilmore” does she think the momentum surrounding then-candidate Trump could be stopped and how. This is what she replied:
“It is the moment that I go. Suits has been filmed in Toronto and I might stay there. Come on, if that’s reality we are talking about, that is a game changer in terms of how we move in the world here.”
Prince Harry is likely to appease her and not invite the president. He could claim with ease that they wanted to invite only people they know, and he and Trump have not actually ever met.
Queen Elizabeth had something to say about this.
According to The Daily Mail, the 32-year-old royal won’t be asking Barack Obama to his upcoming nuptials. Allegedly, the Queen intervened and explained that it would be a “diplomatic timebomb” if Obama was invited and Trump was not.
“Donald Trump won’t be invited. The wedding will be for friends and family only,” was the excuse that Harry prefers.
He had been a guest editor of Radio 4’s “Today” and was asked if he would be inviting Barack Obama, to which he replied that he is not sure:
“The invites or the guest list are not put together yet, so not even we know whether he’s going to be invited or not? That is a surprise that I wouldn’t want to ruin.”
However, The Queen herself has spoken. If Trump can’t come, neither can Obama.
